  • All students at AFSA are members of the FFA. Our FFA Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the state of Minnesota. The FFA is the largest youth-led organization in the United States with 600,000+ members. The FFA provides a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

This year marks the 10th Annual Potato Hug. The Hug is a showcase of student projects, school offerings, and community involvement. This event provides students with a venue to display their  FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects. Students design an entrepreneurial experience, research project, exploratory project, internship, or service type activity. Each project is an opportunity for students to demonstrate professionalism, develop entrepreneurial skills, and showcase their hard work.

Not only does the Potato Hug benefit our students by creating an event for their SAE’s but it also creates an opportunity for collaboration between ag related businesses and student vendors. These business mentors have empowered our students toward greater projects and entrepreneurialism. Since The Potato Hug is our major fundraiser of the year, we would like to invite you to join us with your sponsorship or by becoming a mentor.
