Creative Dramatics – 1 trimester
This course will introduce students to the spectacle of theatre, allowing them to explore their creativity through sight, sound and movement. Students will gain an understanding of the theatrical production process by participating in specific projects and performances to be presented in class, with the possibility of performing for the public, as well. We will examine the role (and work) of each professional involved in the creative process, including the producer, director, writer, actor, designer, special effects, publicity, etc.) as well as the dramatic aesthetics and theory applicable to theatre. Throughout the class, skills will also be developed in the critical analysis of dramatic text and performance review.
