AFSA students complete Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments in reading, mathematics, and science. Students complete these assessments in the spring of the following grade levels:
- Reading - Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10
- Math - Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11
- Science - Grades 5, 8, and students enrolled in Biology (typically 9th grade)
Families who wish to opt their student out of the MCA must complete and submit the Parent/Guardian Guide and Refusal for Student Participation in Statewide Testing. For additional information on the MCA test, please review the MCA Fact Sheet. Please see below for these forms.
