Hello AFSA Families!

Distance learning can be a fun and rewarding way to learn. Your teachers and your school have been working the last two weeks to regear your lessons to be online, on paper, and over the phone. It does take more dedication and work from not just us, but also you! You and those around you can help you with this. Set a schedule, make a calendar, or simply log in each day and keep a task list running for each of your classes. There will be enough to keep you busy! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to any one of us. We will be there and ready to find answers for you or help you with any of our assignments, activities, tests, or quizzes. 

During Distance Learning, our classes will be set up on Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Google Voice..  If you haven’t done so, please set up your student and parent accounts by accepting the invitations to our Google Classrooms. Each staff member has sent out email invitations to each student.

We will be available by phone at different times throughout the day. At the bottom of this page there will be a list of phone numbers and office hours for each staff member.  Please give us a call or send a text with any questions that come up as you are working on assignments, or just to check in!

Each week, you can expect a delivery from AFSA with necessary materials for activities for my classes.  This may include lab materials, books, worksheets, or other hands-on materials. Most resources will also be posted in our virtual classrooms for online access.  The day/time of your delivery will be scheduled by our transportation department.  

Attendance is important!  To be counted “Present” each day, students must check in with advisors through virtual classrooms.  We will be posting daily prompts that you must respond to fully and appropriately to be counted “Present.”  If you are counted “Absent,” school staff will follow up with parents. For families without internet access, we will be calling to check in daily during our office hours.

My class will include: Take home packets, Individual creation projects, S.A.E, quizzes and many short answer questions. 

The following is my weekly schedule for Live Interactions.  Please participate in as many as you are able. If you do not participate in these, teachers will be following up with you to check in.  All live sessions will be recorded and shared with the classroom.

Grading for assignments will be very similar to our classes before Distance Learning.  Assignments must be turned in within a week of being assigned online, and paper materials must be returned on each Delivery day for your family.  All lessons are designed to allow for flexible timing.
